Anti-Donald Trump shirt edited onto photo of Michelle Obama | Fact check
The claim: Image shows Michelle Obama wearing anti-Trump shirt
An April 27 Facebook post (direct link, archive link) shows former first lady Michelle Obama wearing a shirt that says, "NOPE, Not Again." The "O" in "nope" has a swoop of blonde hair and a red tie caricaturing former President Donald Trump.
"Well said no more trump (sic)," reads the post's caption.
The post garnered more than 200 shares in two days. The user shared more images of Obama and actress Rena Sofer wearing the same shirt on Facebook.

Our rating: Altered
Obama's shirt is digitally altered in the image. The original photo shows the former first lady wearing merchandise for her book.
Anti-Trump shirt design is edited
Though Obama has publicly supported President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris leading up to the 2024 presidential election, she has not shared any photos of her wearing this anti-Trump shirt.
The former first lady shared a nearly identical photo of her standing with her arms crossed in front of the same gray stone backdrop on Instagram in 2023. In the original picture, she's wearing a yellow shirt with the letters, "TLWC" written across the front to advertise her book, "The Light We Carry."
"I’m excited to share #TheLightWeCarry merch with all of you!" reads part of the post's caption, directing users to her online store.
Fact check: Image of Taylor Swift wearing anti-Trump T-shirt is altered
The image of Sofer is similarly edited. The actress shared the original image on X in 2018, in which she's wearing a shirt that says, "Brett Pransky for House Representative." Pransky ran for the Ohio House of Representatives in 2018 and lost.
Both edited posts of Obama and Sofer include a link to a website selling the shirt in the caption.
USA TODAY and PolitiFact previously debunked similarly edited images supposedly showing public figures, such as former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Taylor Swift, wearing the same shirt.
The user who shared the post couldn't be reached for comment.
Reuters also debunked the claim.
